Teddington House

This modern classic kitchen was designed to enhance the feature ceiling.

The statement Carbon Island with oak skirtings creates such a beautiful depth of colour and a stunning contrast to the Light Grey perimeter cabinets and white quartz work surface.

Design Details

We included tall height wall cabinets to emphasise the space and incorporated a refrigeration centre consisting fridge, freezer and in-frame double wine coolers, creating the perfect Kitchen for both entertaining and family life.

We removed the shaker profile from the drawers which brings a subtle contemporary feel to the design, together with our solid oak Dovetail drawers providing quality and sustainability.

The inclusion of the antique mirrored splashback into the Mantel opens the space with a touch of class.

What our clients say

Buying a new kitchen is a considered purchase and when you have a blank canvas but need ideas on how to fill the space, it can feel rather daunting.

When Sarah and her husband moved into Teddington House in Sutton Coldfield, they knew they were taking on a sizeable renovation project.

As Sarah explains: “The house had huge potential but had previously been owned by an elderly person, so we needed to go back to the brickwork which was a massive commitment.

“We lived in the house for as long as we could but eventually, we decided to move out and allow the builders to get on with the job in hand. The original kitchen area was extended to transform it into a multi-purpose family space which incorporated a food preparation and dining area where people could relax and spend time together.

“However, whilst we knew how the space would be used, we still didn’t have in mind a finished look, except for the fact that I knew I wanted a ‘Shaker’ style.

“We had received quotes from other kitchen companies, but Truman Kitchens was recommended by a family friend, so we went along to their showroom to take a look at what they were able to offer.

“Immediately, we felt we were in safe hands. Alan is a genuinely nice guy and wasn’t interested in selling us the most expensive kitchen but instead took time to understand how we planned to use the space and how often we entertained. He also suggested a finish that would be durable and would not mark easily – which is important given that we have two small children.

“I hadn’t really considered the build of the kitchen itself, but it was clear from the solid wood and dovetail joints that the cupboards and drawers are built to last.

“The installation was quick and there were no problems at all. Alan is a perfectionist and when he called round to check that we were happy with our new kitchen he spent time adjusting all the doors – even though to us they already looked just fine!

“I think the greatest seal of approval came from my mum who has always cooked for us on Christmas Day. Having used the new kitchen for the first time, she commented that it was the first time that she had genuinely enjoyed preparing Christmas Dinner as the new open plan area is perfect for large family get togethers and meant she was able to join in with the chatter!
