Some people say the biggest mistake you can make when designing your kitchen is not allowing for enough storage, but could it be not installing an integrated wine cooler with a sleek design?
With kitchens now becoming a focal point of any house and so much more than just a functional room, the social aspect and entertaining which now revolves around our kitchens, see us start and end the day at the very centre of our home. Wether you choose to buy a few bottles for your dinner party, or are a serious collector, storing your wine at the optimum temperature, in an integrated wine cooler is no longer a luxury, but an affordable option for your kitchen.
Storing white and red wine at the correct temperature
We all know that white wine should be chilled and red at room temperature right? Well actually its a little more complex than that. White wines are best served at a temperature somewhere between 7-11°C, but if too cold the flavour is comprimised and the aroma and taste is ruined, masking the flavours. Red wine should be served between 12-19 C, meaning room temperature is a little too warm for reds, as it ruins the subtle fruit flavours. An integrated wine cooler can take all of the guess work out of finding the right temperatures and can stop the problem of taking our much needed storage space from our fridges.
Which type of integrated wine coolers?
Miele offer a beautiful design which will blend perfectly into your kitchen. They have several temperature zones in one appliance, with individual controls, allowing you to store several different types of wine requiring different temperatures, at the same time. A clever Flexi Frame design holds bottles of all sizes securely with the clever option of repositioning slats, lengthwise and widthwise to even hold magnum bottles. With presentation being key to show off your collection, the bottles appear slightly raised in the clever, dim lighting unit, using Miele’s Selector bottle presenter.
Another brand we offer is Bosch, with many features including UV protected tinted glass door with aluminium frame, silver doors and silver side panel, integrated vertical handle, right hinged door and defrost water outlet for easy and convenient defrosting, amongst other great design features.
Siemens also offer a huge selection depending on your needs, with premium design and a multitude of options to store your wine at the perfect temperature, including three independently controlled temperature zones, humidity modes and LED lighting.
Another design which we love is Caple, which feature dual stacked temperature zones with independently controlled storage. Shelves can accommodate 750ml bottles, with eye catching touch controls and LED display. With an integrated option allowing design and install of a fitted kitchen door and handle to match the rest of the furniture, we feel this offers a beautiful, seamless finish to a design.
